holy cats! LE BIG POT

(Gary Rith and a big vase)
I was sorta thinking to myself yesterday 'does size matter? how BIG can you GO?'. So I took a BIG ball of clay and made a BIG pot which I just finished. I usually make small pieces, but you know, you wanna challenge yourself sometimes.
The wife quite wisely asks 'will it fit in your kiln?'. Yes. The big kiln. Barely. It won't fit into my glaze buckets so I gotta do some thinking......
(I KNOW I KNOW all my macho potter friends out there are like 'HA! Gary, that's peanuts, I've made bigger'. But I havn't.)

Dude... I don't think I've had enough coffee yet this morning. It took me a long time to figure out what was going on in the new header picture. ;)

I love the BIG pot, it's gorgeous. Don't forget to show us finished with glaze.

That's a very nice big pot - I'm with you, sometimes you have to challenge yourself and do something totally different than "normal!"

Why are you wearing a fleece??? It's almost like summer out.

Katherine and I were at the Etna park this afternoon with my step-mom and step-sister (who is 7 OMG). They live on Lower Creek.

I was alarmed that there were so many teenagers "hanging around" and the dirty diapers left on the ground.

It needs some work.

I'm guessing those handles are for decoration only...
