a real hamster and a fake elephant or 3

A dream come true? This is not my dream hamster Robert, this is George. I was hamstersitting over the last few days. He warmed up to me a little bit. Hamsters are cute, but not really cuddly, snuggly and intelligent, are they?

Hey Gary, thanks so much to you and Maude for coming to the opening yesterday! It is always great to see you guys!
Good luck with everything this week. I sold a number of pieces of yours yesterday!

I have no idea ho intelligent they are, but I had two hamsters as pets when I was a kid. Cuddly? As cuddly as a rodent can be, I guess. It was always fun to watch collecting seeds and see just how big those cheeks can go. :-)

They can be intelligent. When I was a kid, I trained mine to ride around on my shoulder, like a furry little parrot.

When I was a kid my sister had a pet hamster. She named it Barney, but when it had babies she renamed it Bernice. Of course then it ATE her own babies and I called it a FREAK!

Love the hamster photos, Gary! Don't bring him to work, though ;-)

Spike the cat says he would be happy to hamster sit next time.

How did Spike react to the hamster, I wonder? The only rodent that one of my cats encountered was a neighbour's guinea pig. Skitty was totally disinterested in the little critter and the too of them stood side by side nibbling grass.

Haha! Great hamster pics.

my kids used to get to 'hamster sit' when each went through 3rd grade. We always had the Christmas break duty for some reason.

arrggghhhh - it was worse than packing up stuff to transport a baby!!! and i always worried about our labrador discovering a new furry toy THAT SQUEAKS !!!! doggie toy heaven !!

but i'd still take a hamster over a rabbit .... boy can those rabbits move through a house FAST .... leaving their, ummm, LEAVINGS behind everywhere - arghhhhhh!
