le gifties

So, the Missus gives me cashmere socks for Valentine's PLUS some rather nice bourbon. Can you believe I have cashmere socks now????????????????
I am so romantic. I gave her a POT!!!! A little vase! And stuffed mama and puppy beagles that KISS.
And a thousand dollar shearling coat from Barney's. She looks great in it, doesn't she??????
Of course, I got it for her at the church sale for 6 dollars, but I am the only who knows that secret.

The coat is awesome and I think it's so "ritzy" of you to have cashmere socks. I'm not a sock-person but I LOVE the feel of cashmere. That's so cute!

Maude looks fabulous in that coat. Great shopping, Gary!
Mmmmmm... bourbon. Maybe THAT will help me sleep for a few hours? Good idea...

She does indeed look great.. she's a stylish woman for sure. I'm not a bourbon fan but know that a few who do, swear by the combo of Maker's Mark and Grand Marinier.

Well done, PotterMan. B spoiled me with eggs Benedict and pulled pork and tequila (not all at the same time). I got him pyjamas, but he picked them out, so it was ok. :-)

Some of us don't have partners to whom we give or from whom we receive Valentine's Day gifts. I know there's nothing wrong with being single and unattached, but in NYC where everything is geared toward going out on the so-called holidays, Valentine's Day can be lonely for some. I didn't realize how many lonely people there were in my neighborhood until I went past the sports bar next door. There's a sign in their window that reads, "Happy Single Awareness Day!" I'd never seen that expression before. I'd often thought there should be a secondary holiday called "Ch--p B--t--ds Blowout" on February 15 so anyone feeling sorry for themselves could gorge themselves on red wine and half-price valentine's candy, but maybe Single Awareness Day puts a more positive spin on things. Enjoy those socks and that bourbon!

Aloha Gary,
You are so lucky to have groovy socks from the mrs to keep your soles warm while the whiskey warms the other cockles of the soul.
I love her coat, it's gorgeous on her.. Well, she would make anything look good :)
happy hearts day to you both.
Peace, Kai and Dan
