Tom Sawyer

By Rush. My pal KC was talking about Rush. We loved Rush when we were kids, plus saying stuff like 'its a rush, man!' or 'I got a head rush!'. Check out the live video of Tom Sawyer below, then the studio recording session link.

I've always been a huge Rush fan. The day I moved into my dorm room my freshman year the guy across the hall yelled over and asked "what kind of music do you like?" I replied "Rush". The next thing I knew there was this huge sound coming out of the neighboring room. He had a giant pair of JBL speakers and the whole Rush collection on CD. We became fast friends.

the drums, the keyboard, Getty Lee's voice--they had it all together alright!

Okay, so Rush was before my time... but I'm a big fan of music in general (esp. '70's) so I have TRIED to get into Rush.

I really have.

I've made such an effort.

And I'm just not getting the appeal. I don't know what my problem is.

Gary, they HAD it together?!?!

I just heard them in concert last July, and let me tell you, they HAVE it together!!

Although, I was posting mostly for the lyrics yesterday.
Did you know their lyrics were used as a creative writing tool? Some official program, really! -- where there was plenty of talk about metaphor and simile. Neil Peart is not only an awesome drummer, he is also an incredible lyricist.
