what does a new year mean?

We had an invite to a party last night and we drove off into a snowy night and had gotten over to the airport and the snow was blowing so hard we couldn't see the road. Maybe 20-50 feet of visibility, with gusts, zero visibility. We decided to turn around up at the credit union. As I am turning off the highway, the car behind me does a 180 (yes--it spins around so that it is backwards in the lane) and in front of me????? At that tight turn by the Ithaca Swimming Club? A car goes flying into the ditch----and I mean FLYING. It was a huge suv, and a utility truck stopped to help her, she was unhurt, her suv also unhurt, but it was horrible and scary. We returned home and called in our regrets. Weather is better today, and there are 2 wee little parties we are due to attend....

We always spend new years cleaning. Getting rid of stuff. The in tray on my desk is filed and sorted once a year, and it is time....

I dreamt the absolute happiest dream--my first cat, Sammy seen below, passed away a year and a hlaf ago but he spent the night in my dreams, a little ghost cat. It felt terribly real, a reunion for just one night. Makes me realize I have missed him so much and he made me so happy. I am glad he is happy in cat heaven. (also glad I didn't have to join him in heaven, what with last night's driving conditions...)

Whiteouts are horribly frightening to deal with, especially at night. Glad you two are safe.

Reunion dreams like that are wonderful.

Luckily for me, the snow here in northern England has so far been negligible, but slippy icy roads, oh yes, those we have had. I applaud your very good sense in going home, I would not like to hear of harm befalling you, nor Mrs Tastycakes.
Happy New Year!

sometimes we are giving little nudges - yours was to cozy up at home and be safe.
Glad you are safe-
Happy New Year.
I recently dreamed of my grandmother- we were talking by phone. I think she is concerned about my mothers health....
It was good to hear her.

Glad you two are safe

On a not-so serious note...if something happened to you, who would take care of the dream hamster?!

Happy New Year!

Whiteouts are scary! I'm glad you were sensible and went back home. Ppl in suvs, don't realise that 4 wheel drive doesn't remove the ice from under your tires. Sammy was beautiful. Have a good '09 and enjoy cleaning out the in box ;)
