loops and hoops!

So Sunday and Monday, the first big working days of 2009, the first real days of working without the pressure of Christmas orders. I am working on a lot of ideas. There is a tall cup down there with squiggles down the side that I swiped into the wet clay, also a pair of lovey dovey mugs--2 hearts staring at each other longingly--think VALENTINE'S, I am! And you have to imagine this teaset with the loop handle with zebra stripes all over it.----there you are, by the way, fiddling with a wee little zebra, a loop handle and spout, and by God, the day just disappears. I am always surprised that I can blow an afternoon just fiddling with a zebra and a teaset.....

Fiddling with a zebra and a tea set sounds like a great way to spend the day. I love those looped handles you do.

Sounds like a perfectly lovely day! Teaset is looking good! Can't wait to see the zebra deco. So... Valentine's Da, eh?. I should have hearts all over my studio (and kiln), but -- noooo, not me -- I'm still thinking about Christmas tree ornaments! Ha!

the mugs with the hearts should be a big hit for st. valentine's day.

I wonder what it would be like to drink out of a heart shaped mug. Do you think you'd get coffee all over the place?

After looking at that zebra, I am thinking you could probably make some cool dragons.

Jane Hamlyn made some lovely heart shaped, salt glazed mugs some time ago. I like I like the handle and spout there Gary.
Funny I just saw your post on VH. Sarah and I were listening to The Scorpions this morning.

I like the squigglies. And I think that Tink's dilemma could be resolved by drinking tea instead. ;)

Those hearts are going to be tres cute!

I can think of far worse ways to fiddle away a day. The zebra is really cute!

The heart mugs are so cute! Great idea. The squiggle mug will be nice when glazed. The Zebra and handle are awesome!

And, Tink's idea about a heart shaped mug? That's a great idea, Gary! Where the mouth and body of the mug are heart shaped. You could drink out of the round of the heart or the spout of the point.

I like it!!!

Oh, and back to Christmas. You know what would be cute? Candy Cane ornaments. White and red striped. But, other colors for stripes on some as well. That way, I can purchase a whole set! :-)
