Les pots

(pots fired halfway ready for glaze by Gary Rith)
Sure, I still make pots! Spent today at Cornell glazing dozens of pieces (which hopefully they will fire sometime;) including longhorn teapot and sugar bowl plus a lot of zebra stuff.
You wax the bottom of the pots before glazing, and they dry upside down for awhile.

These photos are Dr. Seuss-esque as they remind me of Wacky Wednesday. Everything is topsy turvy!

Nice header pic. Me likey.

I love LOVE the Longhorn sugar bowl. It's awesome! You model such cute little figurines!! I need to order something Turtle-ish for my little Newt!

Sometimes I can't help but think of the scene in "Animal House" when "Otter" goes to the artsy women's college to garner a sympathy date after feigning grief when he learns his alleged ladyfriend has perished in a kiln fire. "She was gonna make a pot for me!" (Okay, it's funnier if you see it, but that line never fails to crack me up.)

I love how they look so white and creamy! Must be the "after fired" glow! ;-)

Happy Vote Day!
