NOT by me

( I DID NOT MAKE THESE)
There are times you're at the store and you love a little pot or pots and lust after its glaze and you don't want the actual pot, you want to MAKE IT YOURSELF or something like it.
These little cuties are at the food coop and I secretly (did I need to do it secretly? you have to do it secretly in a gallery---they never allow pics because potters are sneaking around getting ideas) took this pic. There were some cute dragonfly things too. They are factory made overseas and I make better frogs and stuff BUT:
-these pots are in the cute aesthetic, which is my aesthetic too AND
-I love that glaze and you know what?????? I have been using the green version of it at the Cornell studio and I have the recipe now to use at home, and you can make variations on the green, like blue, and I am wondering maybe yellow too!

You are sounding like a knitter, espying someone's handmade sweater in a crowd. Only, we're allowed to take pictures.

That must be why I was trying to be secretive taking a picture of pottery at the craft fair in October! I knew there was a reason...

I don't know Gary. I like your personal style a little better than these.

;-) A dragon fly would be adorable, though!

Gary, the blue pitchers look like they could be turned into whales... with the handles being whale tails... what do you think? Some little sea creatures??

I dunno, but one glance told me the Gary touch was NOT there. I do like the green glaze, but that's really about all I like about those. Something's missing, like maybe a flash of genius and superb talent?

I could so relate to this post. Whenever we're in a shop or gallery and I comment that I like something, I never hardly ever mean that I want to buy it. I want to MAKE it!... I think what I like in these particular pots is the fullness in the belly of the pitchers. Now they're on my lets-give-that-a-try list too!... Though I do think they need a little mouse sitting on the top of the handle! :)
