Kinky in the kitchen

(saucer, cup and coffee by Gary Rith)
SO my buddy Becky Jo, who we all know is cool, sees my peanut noodle recipe there and tells us that her HUSBAND AND FATHER PUT PEANUT BUTTER in their COFFEE.
As with many first experiences in your adult life, at first you are mildly repulsed, then you squeal 'I WOULD NEVER DO THAT!' then you start to think about it and get mildy turned on by the idea and before you know it, you are heating up....the coffee. And then with hands fumbling and trembling, you carefully finger the ...spoon.... slick with peanut butter, and then slooooowly glide it INto the STEAMING hot coffee and start to move it around...then you move the spoon faster and FASTER and FINALLY YOU TAKE THAT FIRST SLOPPY SIP....
and then the dog starts to lick the spoon, and you fall back, satisfied, because it isn't as horrible as you thought it might be. Then at the bottom of the cup? This sort of sludgey mess to scrape off .....

I love this idea. I'm going to go buy peanut butter just so I can try it. Mmmmm!

I don't think I will try this- peanut butter coffee does not sound good to me!

That does sound like a bizarre combo. Would you do it again is the question I want answered. :)

..
Peanut butter in coffee? Mr Dan says it's good on tortilla's too..
He heats the ring on the stove, toasts them on that (no pan!!??) and then spreads peanut butter on the top, rolls them up and dips them in his coffee..
You men are weird..lol..

PEace, Kai..
PS, Do you ever create mermaids on your pottery? in a cup?

Adorable coffee cup, but I'd never insult peanut butter with a cup of coffee. Lol.

Aleta put it best!
YES, I have made mermaids...

OK, Anyone that knows me will testify that I drink coffee all day, every day, but I'm gonna pass on the PB in my coffee...that's not to say I would not eat a spoon full with my coffee...just not in the coffee. I am not a fan of slug in the bottom of my cup...

Sounds like fun, Gary. But can you respect yourself in the morning?

Your photos say it all, Gary! lol
You are very brave to try it. Now go treat yourself with an Irish Coffee! ;)

And I thought I was the only introvert with the proclivity for writing soft porn. Huh. Who knew that peanut butter in coffee could be so erotic?!

Hilary said...

But was it good for you?

Kimberly said...

Wow. You would exhaust a cup of tea (or a teabag for that matter) with that mug.

Hmmmmmmmmm. I think peanut butter hot cocoa sounds better than putting it in coffee... but that's just me. I am a pretty plain jane when it comes to coffee--- plain and strong, please!

Oh. My. God. I am laughing so hard, I'm gonna cry. Who knew my Dad, who has been putting PB in his coffee since the beginning of time, would create such a ruckus? Brian also thought it was a disgusting idea at first, but now he won't drink coffee w/o PB in it. So.. the question everyone is dying to know... are you going to have a coffee/PB 'experience' again? ;)

PS. I just blogged you. ;)

I love Lou's comment!!!

Um - I'm not wild about coffee to begin with, an occasional cup here and there. But the thought of adding PB ??? Bleh...

That's one I can't wait to try!

Jason, as himself said...

I need a cigarette after that post. And I don't even smoke!

That is just creeping me out!

Oh Lord -- that sounds disgusting! Now some Kahlua? Yep could go for that

They say that peanut butter in coffee is all a question of biological destiny. Others insist it is a lifestyle choice. There are churches that would excommunicate you for putting peanut butter in coffee, and it is still illegal in Alabama...

i guess i can give it a shot but don't have high hopes... what about almond butter?

Unknown said...

I think Brian has gone with almond butter before, but it's more oily, so not his favorite.

It kind of grosses me out, but I love coffee and I LOVE anyone named Becky Jo : ) and I love all Gary's. So I am giving this post 4 out of 5 cups of coffee : ). Oh yes, I am!

NO doubt in Alabama -- verbotten!

I've tried the peanut butter in coffee twice. Not bad! I didn't end up with any sludge at the bottom of my cup, though.
