THAT GIANT SUCKING SOUND: the regular guy WHINES a little

Read my blog and you think "this guy, he has it so good, yet he whines that he has a runny nose, he whines that it is cold outside, oh BOO HOO grow up Gary!".
Good point. So, today I fill up at the pump (down to 3.59, EXCEPT PUMPS EVERYWHERE HAVE NO GAS, but I got some) and get home and the car stinks of gas. I look under and DRIP DRIP gas is dripping in the driveway? HOLY SH!T!!!!!
And I realize "gotta go to the mechanic and FORK OVER every PENNY I plan to make in the next two weeks of open studio sales, 'cause there is another thing or two needs doing by winter". Dang. "That giant sucking sound" he whines "of my open wallet being vacuumed clean by the mechanic".
OK, so I am a little gloomy, but then? At the Cornell Studio this afternoon? I run into Nora, a student who works a little in the studio, and her car WAS TOTALED Saturday. GONE. And she is happy she is alive and not too injured.
WELL, as the saying goes "I was sad because I had no shoes, until I met a man with no feet".
So actually, life is pretty good. And I got some AWESOME pots out of the kiln over there so it is like Christmas, really. Sweet.
Sorry about the whining....

LE SIGH

"le sigh" good one!

Everyone deserves to whine every now and again, no matter how inconsequential it may be in the grand scheme of things. I've certainly been doing A LOT of whining around here lately because nothing seems to be going like I need it to go and some things seem really out of control, yada yada yada . . .

We should all get together, make s'mores, and whine til we feel better.

Oh man, I hate car trouble. You feel like you're just opening your wallet and tossing money to the wind. But as you say, it could be worse.

I hope whatever it is - it's a cheap fix.

love,
fiwa

Car problems suck, no matter how big or small. HATE THEM!

Thank you for the cute mug and vase! You truly made my day. I've been job-hunting and it makes me want to kill someone... your package calmed me down... so everyone gets to live one more day...

I'd almost rather set fire to bag full of cash than go to garage. At least I'd know how much money I'd be tossing away.

Cheri knows you well! Le Sigh *giggle*

I agree, it DOES suck. But yes, you are alive and there is at least some money to pay the mechanic....
Which reminds me, it's time to take my chariot in for a check-up.

Wait, did Lis say "WINE until we feel better?"

But you only have one Penny! Couldn't you give Spike instead?

Thank you, I'm here all week. Don't forget to tip your waitress.

car trouble is no fun. hopefully, it will turn out to be no big deal. but this reminds me that my car needs an oil change and i think my timing belt needs to be changed.

I hate to tell you this, but we bought gas for $3.05 (regular) today. And isn't it sad that THAT sounds cheap? yikes!

That was just the perspective I needed today--thanks! And sorry about your car.

The car still moves, and looks intact, therefore the news can't be too bad!
There are times, though, you wish you could simply walk everywhere!

I like this idea... We should all get together, make s'mores, and whine til we feel better.
