Would you be surprised to hear that our 2 cats love yarn and knitting projects? The missus had died several skeins of yarn with veggies, like carrot tops or onion skins or marigold flowers---a beautiful rainbow, being rinsed here Saturday then the scarf was begun on Sunday...

Those are some beautiful colors. You will post a pic when completed, right? With your lovely wife modeling the scarf, of course. :)
Wow what a great idea.Dying the yarn with carrots etc.I will have to try that next year.I love to crochet,Im not to good on knitting though.
I never would have thought to die yarn with veggies! How neat!

Those are beautiful colors - I can't wait to see what she makes with it. I like the orange especially.
When we see you on Sunday, I have to remember to ask Maude exactly how she does this. Not that I knit - nor do I want to, but the dying process is fascinating!
Well, I haven't knitted anything in years, but seeing those glorious colors Maude has produced, has also produced in me a great urge to pick up the needles again and MAKE SOMETHING! i think in my past I made almost everything from socks to sweaters and complete baby outfits. Much fun, and so calming, as well.
Since I don't knit, my kitties don't get the chance to help me with yarn, but they love it when it comes time to tie the curling ribbon on packages! It's so helpful having them around at holiday time. They are Santa's helpers.
EH
she dyes her own yarn???? holy cow! Talented fam there!!
Wow, that looks extremely cool.. and how sweet of the kitty-cats to "help" :)
