hamsters and confessions
You know about my dream hamster, right? I was wondering when it might visit me again. Its visits are invariably brief and pointed. (I have a pet hamster that visits me in my dreams, yes I do...)
So, the confession, other than lifting this pic from somewhere else? We were in PENNSYLAVANIA this morning drinking coffee and gossiping (more on that tomorrow) and we got home and I grabbed the beagle and fell asleep. A nap. I was whupped!
So, the hamster is there. It is opening a book and looking at it and it looks up at me and its eyes pop open in surprise.
So, now I not only have a dream hamster, I have a dream hamster who can READ, and the hamster was keeping it secret.....

You were in PA?????? Grr... I totally want to meet you, the missus, and the pups!
PA. isn't that far from you, Gary. Just a short trip South... :)
well, NO, I mean, one hour away....we were right on the state line...but I havn't been to PA since 1994 or so...
Has the thought ever crossed your mind that you just might have a great idea for a charming kids' book there, Gary, complete with photos or sketches of some really cute pieces of pottery? Not that you don't have enough on your plate right now. But it the thought did strike me --
I'm going back to the dream books on this one...
Hey. That's a great idea! A children's book. About the Dream Hamster. "Pet in my Head."
If you've gotta have a hamster, at least it is a literary hamster, lol!
Does your dream hamster have a name? And how is its eye and the foot that was missing? Are they back?
the hamster is healthy---and it is funny, doesn't have a name, don't know if it is a male or female---PET IN MY HEAD of course, sounds like the book by somebody crazy! Not crazy am I?
Perhaps you should just get a REAL hamster, Gary?!
I think a real one would be EATEN by my dogs and cats!
That's a great idea that Mary Lee has, Gary!
"Pet in my Head" is a great title, too!
Cracked right up with - "sounds like the book by somebody crazy!"
Welll, crazy, at least a little bit, is always helpful! Especially in artistic endeavors.
Gary you have the meat and potatoes for a cute children's story. Ever thought of taking up writing?
