TURTLE SOUP with the Swedish Chef

Good lord we live in good times: you can watch Muppet Show clips all evening, and this is one of the funniest.

Much to Bridget's chagrin, I happened on the DVD set of the entire first season of the Muppet Show 18 months ago. I've been introducing the boys to their joys since. I have to order seasons 2 & 3 online .. :-)

I absolutely loved and adored the Muppet show! Of course, I did get to see one or two of the movies...in the movie theatre (instead of waiting four years for it to be a Saturday night Movie on a network station).

Mrs. Piggie, of course, was my ultimate fav. She had such class and style? Yet she was tough! And, she knew what she wanted!

Gosh....take a Gal back...

Ah, my favorite is MANANANA :)

But the BEST Henson character is still Sproket from Fraggle Rock. SUCH a cute puppy.

Gord, you lucky dog! B didn't watch the shows the first time around and had never seen the movies until we caught Muppets From Space on tv a while back. "Do the people around know they're puppets?" "They aren't puppets, they're Muppets." Sigh. It's a good thing he's cute. I will, however, drag him to the theatre for their next picture.

I absolutely *heart* the muppets. I cried when Jim Henson died. That cover picture on Time magazine with a sad Kermit? *sniff*

I'm always amazed when people don't know basic muppet or Sesame Street characters. Just last night, I had to introduce dh AND his parents to Roosevelt Franklin. Of course, I had to sing the line: "Roosevelt Franklin (baaahhmm) Elementary School!" after a little clip was featured on a Stephen Colbert show.

I love the muppets. The first one my daughter saw was the the one where Elton John was on (back from the 70's). In one of the skits he was dressed up as a bird, it scared the beejesus out of her!

Thanks for posting these Gary. I am another muppet lover. The Swedish Chef was one of my favorites, but then so was Fozzie, Kermit, Miss Piggy, Bunsen Honeydew, Beaker, Dr. Tooth, Jan, Animal, Robin...and of course Stetler and Waldorf!
