groovy bottles, shirty Saturday

(stuff by Gary Rith)
The bluish cup below? I am doing some glaze tests. I still don't like the looks of this glaze, so I dumped in some dark rutile and we'll see how THAT goes.

So Saturday I go over to the Cornell studios to teach the class but everything is locked up. Norah is there, and we look far and wide for a human with a key. Finally we find one, but I have lost a half hour of prep time. Then I try to go to the bathroom but I snap off the key in the lock (and trek 5 floors up to the nearest other john) and Norah calls the studio director but repairs will take a few days THEN I am trying to throw some things and I am rushed and a piece falls off the wheel. I plopped it back on and saved it, but anyway, that NEVER happens then I got home and there is a letter from the credit card company. I keep one credit card just for online use, because that keeps things simple, OR IN THE EVENT OF THEFT the card can be isolated.....well, after multiple attempts, some jerks somewhere managed to get some charges onto my card, from Germany and from Australia. WTF? I am glad Amex noticed the attempts and alerted me and are helping me, but I am less glad that there is 74 bucks of charges to dispute and that card has to be replaced.
BUT, trust me, it is wise to have a card used only online, because then if the worst happens, you can deal with it more easily.
So Saturday was one of those days that keeps having these little crazy moments, but lookit the pizza I made and the apple torte....yummo. Today is the wife's birthday. I am thinking of making someting and frosting it like a pig.

A couple of years ago somebody got a hold of my credit card number and tried to buy a $4,000 TV with it. Go big or go home, I guess. haha

Anyway, it was a hassle cause they canceled the card, but never notified me. So, when I tried to use it for Christmas presents it was declined and I had to spend two days dealing with the non-English speaking customer "service" people. Fun times!

That all shtanks!! Bummer. I suggest eating a lot of homemade choc-peanut butter cups to make yourself feel better. Surely that will help.

And please pass on the happiest of birthday wishes to your loverly youthful looking wife.

what darling little pussy-tats! Love the heart shaped ones further up the page too.

Did I ever mention to you that in our house when we use you're mugs we always call them Gary mugs? So, when Benny shouts up 'wanna tea? which cup?' I will reply, 'Gary cup/mug' please. So now, that's why your ears to be going red several times a day - being talked about in Sligo regularly :)
