hanging out at Kate and Jim's

As many of you know, Kate and Jim are real people who live down the road from us. Down the road about 3 or 4 hours.
SO I dreamt that their thing was to invite people over and encourage them to make art and make all kinds of creative projects. In my dream, I went over twice in one weekend because I, ahem, was trying to make a lifelike pear. And when it was done, I woke up. Thanks for a super good time Kate and Jim! They are great hosts.

SO, if you assume that dreams are useless space junk, or if on the other hand you think they are prophetic or tell us more about our inner thoughts, it may be more simple than that. Yesterday's NY Times had an article about dreams and meaning. They find that:
a) dreams usually mean what the dreamer wants them to mean and
b) their real meaning is a reflection of your emotional state---ie., you're upset so you have nightmares. Or in my case, you're an artsy flake and you dream flaky, artsy dreams.

When my life is in turmoil, I always dream of tornados. I still don't know what it means when I dream I'm naked in public and nobody seems to notice....

Thanks for stopping over and making the pear. Too bad I didn't get to see you while you were here! lol

I tend to have dreams about stairs. They're usually along the side of a mountain and I have to walk down them, or they are grouped together and I can't find my way off them. Sometimes they go no where - just up (or down) and get smaller and smaller.

Man - I can't get used to this time change.

oh but Kate, you WERE there, and that is probably why you're so tired, up all night with visitors!

I have a lot of laugh-out-loud or crying dreams... more laughing than crying, though.

And for those of us who can't remember our dreams? Are we forgetful?

Nah, just your brain keeping itself busy over night. My worst dreams always seemed to find me lost somewhere strange and covering and recovering the same routes trying to find where I want to go, which is never ever evident. Think of me, as a dog endlessy chasing my own tail, always beyond reach! Sob! NOW look what I've done OR- the alternate -- I'm onstage in a rather prominent role bare nekkid, READING my part from the sides held tighly in my hand.
In case you wonder about sides, that's the short version of the play containing only YOUR lines with the last of the previous speaker's as cue. Highly blush-making.

kcinnova, I rarely remember my dreams. And the ones I do...oh, man. The other night I dreamt my mother was smoking pot. I gotta stop hanging out with celeste.

(For the record, while my mother does support legalization, she hasn't, to my knowledge, experimented herself. Now I'm afraid to ask.)
