le masterpiece

(cup by Gary Rith)
Probably looks ordinary enough to you, but maybe I have worked my whole life to make this cup. The spirally upward movement, the whacked and added little feet, the loop handle with twisty pattern...
my pottery to do list is LONG, but 2008 has had some great pottery experiments and I am pretty dang excited about 2009 and now maybe it is time to eat a mountain of potatos and omelette....

It's a purely fine cup, Gary. Happy new year, and have a great omelette.

Yup! An achievement as well as a truimph and wonderful to look at, as well!

And furthermore, as well, may I also say, as well, how many times can one trip over one's thoughts, as well as flouting the laws of good writing, as well, well, anyway, and also, okay, I apologize, too! As well?

That is one GORGEOUS cup!!! From the feet to the glaze and including the patterned handle with the curve you love to grab, it's a masterpiece!!! I sure can imagine warming my hands on those upward spirals, some cold winter night.

Are you inviting us all to help you with that mountain of potatoes and omelette?

Okay, possibly a dumb question here for the Potter Man: Why do you not glaze the bottoms of your pots?
(And I think this question is blog-post worthy...just sayin'.)
