our little winter wonderland

Can you believe this is what it looks like behind our house? We live in a tiny little village of 300 people adjacent to the little city of Ithaca, a cluster of old houses, cemetery, old mill (apartments now) church, post office and the river, called Fall Creek. Look at how pretty the river is behind our house.
And then there's me with Penny and Buster at the playground.

Gorgeous, Gary. Not much more than a dusting here. It's darn cold, though: -14C when we got up this morning.

And how charming that gaggle of geese (Canada's ?) all piling down into the river. What a treat. The snow IS sooo beautiful, but by the time you get enough clothes on to keep from freezing you can hardly walk, so I think I'll let you keep it. We've had only one small dusting so far this winter.

Wow you look so small there under that huge snow covered tree. What a beautiful place you live.

Encyclopedia Blue thinks it would be nice to live there, except that school wouldn't get canceled for snow. :(

But then he just added that it wouldn't be good to miss too many days because then the class wouldn't get to cover all of the necessary material. Yes, my kids are geeks.
