le beagle, le weekend

(Penny, and the church on our corner)
I am not a Baptist but it sure is a pretty little church in the snow on Christmas week.
Penny has a very thin coat of fur but LOVES snow. Then she comes in to warm up.

Sharkey adores the snow, too. He "asks" to go out more in the snow than he does in the summer. :-)

How's Buster do in the snow? Haven't seen much of him, lately.

Awwww... I want to move to your little town and XC ski and watch your puppies play in the snow!
I'd go to that church just because it was there. (I'm not a Baptist, either.) Unless they tried to tell me not to drink or play cards. That would be a deal-breaker.

I looove visiting unusual churches. I once attended service in the Hawaiian church in Honolulu, conducted entiirely IN Hawaiian. Couldn't understand a word, but loved every beautiful second of it. There was another church in Waikiki, now long gone, but completely open to to the tradewinds. Reminded me of chatting with God in the Garden of Eden. At least that's how it felt to me. Almost right around the corner was where Robert Louis Stevenson and the Princess Kaiulani used to sit and chat in the shade of her banyan tree. I have a dreadul feeling it's gone now, underneath a highrise hotel, alas! I used to love to go there since we lived in the neighborhood for a while. The house had vanished, too. I looked for it.
