color. Chicory is one of those weeds that has the prettiest blue flowers. You can see that Spike and Penny are pretty comfortable around our house and YAY! Me, the missus and Penny and more chicory... (my buddy Cheri sent me that rather awesome tee)
I've been following your blog for a bit, you do some beautiful work. I don't suppose you do anything with turtles? Not so much in a whimsical fashion, but something on the lines of a scale depiction? On reflection, this would have been better in an email, i'll look for the link. Again, nice work.
Buongiorno Gary, An ancient Romanian legend says that one day the Sun asked to woman Floridor to marry him. She refused, then the Sun, irate, changed her into the flower of chicory and ordered to watch him(the Sun) every moment of his day from sunrise to sunset. This is to explain that the flowers of chicory are heliotrope, means, in this case, that open at dawn and close at sunset. German botanist calling this plant "sponsa solis" ="the bride of the sun." A nice legend for you and Missus Rith Ciao Filippo

I like the coffee and chicory that they have in New Orleans. Mmmmm.
I recall seeing those flowers plus plenty of Queen Anne's Lace and Black Eye'd Susans around our house as a kid.
I recall the chicory and Queen Anne's Lace, too, while walking with my Grandfather.
That's a fantastic story your friend Filippo, told us.
I love these photos of you all. All the elements come together to perfection.
Pretty, pretty flower -- I love that color!
And does Maude ever NOT look fabulous? *sigh*
