a tale of two teapots

(pots by Gary Rith)
As I say below, I considered 5 handles for the teapot on the left above and settled on an ovoid cane handle with a wrapped top (upper right in a pic down a ways). HOWEVER, I couldn't get the end into the lug. I soak handles then put them on, cause cane and bamboo are like pasta--rigid until you wet them in hot water. So then I boiled water and soaked the handle in there--a lot more flexible, but still, no go. THEN I tried this bamboo handle with wire ends. The ends fit but I boiled water and soaked the bamboo in boiling water too, so that it would bend into place without snapping, WHICH THEY WILL DO if you are impatient.
Gorgeous eh?
Thanks.

Are you mad, sir? Or just too much of a perfectionist? That little 'flaw', is just 'personality'! far as I'm concerned. No one else, would ever call it a flaw, and you should just pretend that you did it on purpose.

Beautiful! Gary, if the missus doesn't want you to keep the "flawed" teapot... I have a GREAT home for it. Let me know.

Hello Gary,
I came on over from Glass Half Full Gal's blog. I Love your work. I looked over your pottery pics. So beautiful and the bunny pencils are adorable.

That's the one *I* would have chosen! (I think...)
