red! ORANGE!
My friends in Texas and Arizona and California wonder why people live in the northeast. Its because ya'll have SNAKES. Blizzards are nothing compared to snakes.
PLUS, our maples and other trees kick azz in the fall.
Totally busy but we walked Penny over at the Cornell Univesity arboretum this am, hundreds of acres of hills, ponds, creek, and trees and flowers....

How beautiful! I do miss fall (but not winter). Keep the foliage pictures coming please!!! :-)
It was an incredible day yesterday. I posted one on my other blog.

Holy cow this is amazing.
Here in So Cal our leaves do not turn brilliant colors. They stay green until about January. Then they slowly fade to an unsightly brown and fall off the trees one by one.
I love your fall. But I hate your winter!
I'm with you Gary! Up here in Alaskaland we also freeze out snakes, fleas, ticks and all sorts of creepy crawlers!! Yeah, you have to look out for a bear or moose or two but at least they're mammals! Great Gallery shot of you with your work :o)
Don't you have snakes at your house, Gary? We get quite a few milk snakes in our yard.
Can you believe the weather we had yesterday? Gorgeous!
So pretty! Loving Fall!
I'll even take winter over snakes. Wait.. we have snakes..
Lovely photos. Considering you're south of us, your trees seem to be ahead of ours.
OK, I am talking about SCARY snakes--we don't have any.....
We have nice big rat snakes here; SnakeMaster has a 4' or maybe 5' shed skin pinned on his bedroom wall.
I *do* love the fall colors. There is nothing prettier than driving down a narrow lane under a canopy of golden leaves. (I envy you the excess of red -- we have to be satisfied with orange here.) And yes, I did miss the seasonal colors when we lived in Texas!
And you are right: no rattlesnakes or scorpions here. :)
Look at that beautiful scenery!
That's just another reason for me to stay here in NY. We may have a little garden snake or two (only saw one this summer) but I don't like all those BIG snakes and BIG bugs they have in the lower half.
I'm with the rest of ya - I'll take winter.
So beautiful. Your trees are ahead of ours. You'll see the occasional orange tree, but we haven't been hit by fall full force yet.
Fall is the best.
Well, Ontario has the Eastern Massaauga Rattlesnake, and we're in the northeast.
I went to the Markham Fair, north of Toronto, today where the leaves are just beginning to change their colours.
Lovely photos!
beautiful fall shots, makes me want to move back to central ny, if you know what i mean. the foliage does change here too and is quite beautiful but the way the water and sky look and everything all together is different somehow.
The trees are WAY better than the rattlesnakes and water moccasins!
Gorgeous trees...I lived in Boston for a year and it was fantastic on the east coast. I'd go back in a SECOND!
