Peaked!

Shots from around our house Sunday morning. We usually have peak fall colors Columbus Day weekend and that was sure true. I was taking these pics just before it got too late! The leaves are all falling down, and in a week or two they will be almost entirely gone.
We ae fortunate to live in a little old village 5 miles from the city of Ithaca named Etna, NY. There are, depending on how you count it, 20 or so houses, a church, cemetery, post office, bus stop, playground and fire dept. And behind my house going though it all is Fall Creek, which is the prettiest small river on earth.....when I snapped those pics, there was a great blue heron flying by (didn't get a good shot of it though)

So pretty! Just looking at those pictures makes me feel like putting on a sweater. I'd have to find one first... ;-) Glad the weekend went well! Best of luck for the next one too! Any standout best sellers?

Nice! You're lucky.. it's just gray and yarky here today. It SNOWED last night and it's still snowing up in northern Iowa. Bleh.

It's amazing that the leaves have barely even begun to change here. We're about a month behind you guys.

Sooooo beautiful!! Such memories it spurs, too. Is it time for buying fresh cider?

I was just looking at some watercolors by an upstate NY artist, Charles E. Burchfield, and it was so evocative. And now here are your photos!

Beautiful scenery Gary. You are lucky to live in such a gorgeous and quaint little town!

Gary, these are gorgeous shots. I can see the bits of blue from the heron. Pop on over to my blog. I've got your Great Blue in flight over there. ;)

I feel like the trees in Iowa have stopped going through the pretty fall stage. Just one day they are gone. No more enjoying fall colors.

It's been so dry here, the trees are stressed out and losing their foliage.

OMG -- just gorgeous! In San Diego, a liquid amber turns yellow, and we yell, "Yipee, it's fall!" Of course, it was 70 here today and the slider is still open at nearly 3 a.m., so there are the tradeoffs. :-) BTW posted a vegetarian appetizer recipe for you tonight!

Note to self: Columbus Day weekend is when fall colors peak in the Northeast.
