stuffed and mounted

(cups by Gary Rith, coffee by Gary Rith plus Mrs Chocolate Truffle's paw)
The thing is, I think intoxication is totally overrated. I think my brains are generally mushy, actually, so my drug of choice is caffeine. Sure, the end of the day and I have that beer or shot of whiskey. But I like to be lucid and hardworking, I like to clean and cook and blog and be a happy and shiney little worker bee. COFFEE COFFEE JOY JOY!
Something has gotten in the way this week, however. Food. Holy cats I am stuffed stuffed and STUFFED. I think that it makes it hard to sleep, work, walk, stay awake, but it sure is fun for a day or two of holidays.
(actually, there is no end in sight for the feasting......)

There seems to be a never ending stream of sweets flowing into the house. Plus heavy comfort food at all the family gatherings, (yet another today). Last night we headed out for some yummy Vietnamese food, which felt soooo good to eat.

Of course 2 hrs later I was on the sofa vegging out on television, and crunching a bowl of potato chips. Agggggghhhh

I would swear I have never eaten so much in my life, but I probably said that 12 months ago....

I really try to limit my portions this time of year. I just take a spoonful of everything I want. (not a large spoonful. Just a tad of each item that I want). Then when I've finished, I may go back for another spoonful of whatever I found particularly good. Works for me. Even with desserts - I try to take only a bite or two. Then I can sample a few instead of tasting only one.

Heehee... Penny looks a little concerned in that header picture. It's salad time now, isn't it?

You need carbohydrates if you're going to create. Go have that potato omlette. (Don't forget the hot sauce!)

That yellow mug is cute! It looks kinda of like my old Southern Living my I used before I you made my new ones.

Though, it looks bigger and wider...be a great soup bowl/mug! :-)

I didn't get too stuffed lately. Which is a good thing. Though, I still feel like I'm stuffing a little more of myself into my jeans lately. Hmpft!

Happy Sunday!

I hear you on the STUFFED.
A wee haiku:

O Christmas Cookies
spritzes of sugary joy
you call and mock me

COFFEE COFFEE JOY JOY!

Or at least that is how I am staying awake this morning...
