TP WARS

OK, the house is immaculate, studio and living area, because I had so many visitors this weekend PLUS the visiting vet comes at ten this morning to give Buster his shots and exam. YES, our vet is like James Herriot. We happen to live just a few miles from the Cornell Vet school, which I think was the first in the US plus maybe the number one vet hospital in the country (when Spike cat had tummy troubles late on a Sunday night, I was sooooo grateful the emergency room there never closes!). So, there are vets on every corner in this county, no exagerating! We are a family that had 3 dogs and 2 cats, and it is easier for the vet to come here for appts, unless there is a late emergency. And when Sammy cat and Jack the dog had their finall illnesses, the vet was here with us and let's just say it is a whole lot less traumatic for them to pass at home.
OK, so the house is clean, but nobody ever made the bed. YES, tis the wife's job, and she returns later today. The problem is, if I make the bed, I will do it in typical slapdash fashion, and she will complain about it and make it again. So I wonder what is the point? Save myself a minute or two and NOT make it.
(I have been busy but I miss my sweetie so much and cannot wait to have her home this afternoon)

Same thing with the TP. Who knows which way it is supposed to go? My pal Gord is right to ask why women have passionate feelings about direction, torque, placement and wind resistance. I mean, I get detailed notes from Kate, and then Cheri, who is a lawyer, starts citing historic precedent and case history....

OK, TP, roll placement: does it matter which way it should go?

The TP should always go the way the woman wants it to go, because we use it more than the men do!
My MIL, bless her heart, puts it on backwards. I fix it. But only in my own home, and usually not until after she leaves. I can live with it WRONG for a few days. ;)

And SuperDad can't make the bed right, either (although I'm happy when he tries). :)

Changing the toilet paper roll does not cause brain damage.

Wow, Cheri, you're up early!! Did the puppy make you do it?

Gordo, I can't access your site! You've been posting but I keep getting blocked. It's weird.

So yes, I leave messages for everyone else on Gary's site. Thanks, Gary! ;) I can't wait to see some snake cups...

I see you've got Mrs. G. up on your computer. Careful, don't drink coffee while watching her video today. You might spew it on the keyboard from laughing!

And my problem with accessing Gordo's blog is from Flock. Silly flock. I'll have to log out and try IE.

Sweet Emily kitty wants to come sit in my lap, right Emily? Prrrrrr.... (I hereby admit, I am a cat person.)

We can all agree on this: if the roll is getting low, place one in reserve, like on the back of the tank or somewhere that makes sense, and is CLOSE TO HAND. But KC, you talk of backwards, how can there be a backwards? How can there be a wrong??????????

I'm also hijacking Gary's comments this morning. Too much coffee, too little sleep. Maybe I should go yell at some kids instead. That's always fun. I can throw a cup of cold water on anyone still in bed! Wheeeee!

her video jammed on me after the pies! probably a LOT of people watching it at once!

Gary, forwards is up over the top. All the women say this. (Look back at your original post.) Therefore, the other way is wrong! lol
But really? The RIGHT way is the way Missus P wants it. ;)

Meh, who cares? It's more peaceful if I do it her way, but keeping a spare roll handy IS mandatory.

KC, I forgot to renew my domain name and it expired at midnight. It will be back up soon.

the TP should always roll towards the wall. it's a known fact. (hey, i'm not making this up). if everyone did this it would be a much better zenful world.

forward is up over the top? seems to me that forward up over the top could be either way....

but doesn't it roll towards the wall either way?

Up over the top, away from the wall, G. If it goes up over the top, towards the wall, one has to reach under the roll to pull it out and for some reason that really sucks.

BTW, have you ever read that it's good to leave beds unmade? Airs them out.

I was taught that it should always roll over the top with the end in front! If my husband does this wrong- I yell and change it!

Over the top. Not from the bottom. Drives me crazy any other way. But I am with Cheri, I would just be happy if it was replaced when empty!

I've never got that about TP rolls. I don't care how it sits as long as SOMEBODY has replaced the empty roll, and it's within easy reach.

Same with toothpaste. It makes little difference to me whether you squeeze from the top or from the bottom as long as you don't squeeze it onto the counter or into the sink without rinsing the glob away.

I'm with you Hilary....ever notice in a public john how sometimes they have those TP rolls as big as a car wheel? Like ten miles of TP? I wonder how long something like that lasts.

Yes - (as what Nancy said) up and over the top with the end in the front!

I taught Jim once, how to do it, and he's been doing it right ever since. He is the TP changer around here. I love it! When it's getting near the end of the roll a new roll magically appears and the old little roll sits on top till it's done.

(Yeah - he's a great guy. :)

I'd marry jim too!
