my pal Tink suggests:

Tink suggests a wee little holiday meme:

1. What was the best present you've ever received? MY WIFE!!!!!! We got married on Christmas Eve!!!!!!!! Smooch baby, almost 16 years!

2. What was the worst? There hasn't been a worst in years. I buy gifts for myself, pass them to the wife to give me. It works well. I don't like surprises at all!

3. What is something you really want this year for yourself? Echo and the Bunnymen greatest hits!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4. What is something you really want this year for someone else? tee hee, secret sweet surprises for the wife----------but I am also giving my O- blood on the 23rd, so accident victim, this Blood's for you

5. What's your favorite Christmas memory? The year I got married was the very best!!!! We got adjoining suites at the Drake Hotel on Chicago's lakefront. After the little ceremony, which I don't remember, the Episcopal priest walked down with our little party and we WHOOPED IT UP in the restaurant with champagne and the rest, then the next morning, for the first and only time in my life, we had room service. At The Drake, darlings....

copy and paste and comment yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

my new pc from my wifester

2. What was the worst?
ugly flannel pj's that my mom later told me I owed her 14.95 for

3. What is something you really want this year for yourself?
aside from that mermaid mug? a Dyson! or a cappuccino machine

4. What is something you really want this year for someone else?
There's something I've been wanting for Wifester for a very long time...sure hope Santa brings it! Cant say here, cause she reads your blog too. ;)

5. What's your favorite Christmas memory? it wasn't really Christmas, but Wifester and I went to Ohio, where her family lives in between Christmas and Thanksgiving a few years ago, because that's when I could get the phone company nazis to give me time off, and her family had a huge Christmas party for us, and we played dirty santa and got drunk and Wifester sang "baby got back" on karaoke ...it was a HOOT!

1. What was the best present you've ever received?
Release from Xmas shopping! Both my family and Brent's don't exchange gifts anymore and haven't done for 3 years. Ahhh...the freedom!! Instead, we donate the money we would have spent on shopping and we give it to a charity. That makes everyone happier...except maybe retailers. ;)

2. What was the worst?
A lift ticket for downhill skiing at Whistler Mountain. I hate downhill skiing.

3. What is something you really want this year for yourself?
Money for my college account. So far so good.

4. What is something you really want this year for someone else?
A clean brain scan for my mom who thinks she's having mini-strokes or bad side effects to her diabetes meds.

5. What's your favorite Christmas memory?
The Xmas right after my mom and dad had sold their house for a healthy profit. It was the one and only time in my life that I had even a small glimpse of what it might be like to be well-off. The pile of gifts was so HUGE (compared to other poor little Xmases) and I got rollerskates! I was 9 years old.

Gary, you and I must be the same age. You are the ONLY other person I know of who knows who Echo and the Bunnymen are. I hope you do get the cd for Christmas.

I'll get it because I bought it and gave it to the wife to give me!

You don't like surprises? Even the GOOD ones? Now see, I'd view that as a challenge. ;)

I love that you got married on Christmas Eve. So sweet!

Fortune: She made you pay for your own (ugly) present? Ugh.

WV: Caramels. Mmmm.

Half a pack of Double Bubble.

Celeste always makes me laugh!

1. As a wee lass, my dolly. As a happily married woman, the wrap for my wedding ring.

2. When pregnant with boy#1, dh gave me a maternity sweatshirt for Christmas. (granted, we were kinda poor at the time, but still!!)

3. A little camera to live in my purse so I always have one with me. (And like Gary, I usually shop for my own gifts and give them to My Honey to wrap...)

4. My 16yo has been asking for a bow & arrow set. We're trying to make this happen.

5. The Christmas my folks declared that all gifts everything must be homemade. We were kids, so that wasn't too hard for us (my sister sewed us stuffed Disney characters) but much harder for my workaholic parents (dad did iron-on t-shirt designs, different for each of us kids; mom sewed a wedding dress for my barbie doll and a nightgown for my beloved dolly (see #1)
