1991-1992

I first met the missus in 1989. She ran the ceramics studios and gallery at University of Illinois-Chicago, and I worked there as a teacher and artist-in-residence for a few years, although my full-time day job was a teacher of blind students.
In 1991 I was like
"hey, I am making some Christmas sugar cookies, wanna come over and frost some?" and that was the first time we did anything outside the studio. 3-4 months later we CLICKED and I kissed her. We got married not long after!
So, in cleaning the house, I came across this little album she had made of our first weeks together. Also pictured is my old bachelor cat Sammy, who passed away 2 years ago, age 17....

okay, maybe nobody will agree with me, and this picture isn't the Best illustration of what I mean, but you remind me so much of Jamie Bamber in that photo of you in the wild colourdy jumpie!

I was TRES polite and frost your cookies THEN meant colored icing on an actual cookie!

Lou, I looked at the pic and, who are those people?

Battlestar Gallactica Gary, Jamie Bamber plays Apollo (the guy on the left) and Edward James Olmos plays Bill Adama (right). I think you have a somewhat similar look in the colourdy jumper photo - similar eyebrow shape, eyes, jaw line etc.

It's a compliment ;)

Goodness! I love how you both keep such good photo-records of your life... you go together like Forrest & Jenny, like peas & carrots :)

This is so sweet. I love that the first date was frosting cookies. Scott and I colored in the Good Touch-Bad Touch Activity Guide on our first date.

You've known each other for twenty years! That's almost half of your lives.

I think the younger Mrs. Pottsblog bears a resemblance to Mary Louise Parker in her role as Nancy Botwin on "Weeds".
