a lot of white lumps eh? apple crisp recipe

(potato salad and apple crisp by Gary Rith)
When went to sell our house in New Hampshire, I burned a candle before customers came over: apple crisp! The place smelled great and the house sold easily. That is what the house smells like now, oh joy! FOR REAL!
We had this bag of apples that weren't too tasty and are probably kinda old. Apple recipes were probably invented for that reason. So, using the recipe from the wife's mean old boss many years ago (rotten boss, great crisp, and I got the recipe from her but changed it here and there so its mine) I made a triple batch (made potato salad too, although I forgot the eggs---using the recipe on the mayo jar)

Gary's groovy easy apple crisp

3 large apples
2 tbs sugar
1/2 c rolled oats
1/2 c brown sugar
1/4 c flour
1/4 teas gound nutmeg and cinammon
1/4 c non-hydrogenated margerine
1/4 c walnuts

preheat oven to 375
Chop apples into 8 x 8 baking pan, mix in white sugar, spread around pan.
In bowl toss in margerine and chop up with knife, toss everything else in and mix using the knife to sorta chop. Looks like course crumbs. Sprinkle over apples, bake about 30-35 mins.
OH YUMMY!
