more le art trail pics AND Bear....

OK, so as I say below, I was asked to provide FALL studio shots for somebody's advertisment. I snuck into the neighbor's yard and got a shot of our house using their maple to frame it. It got summy out and I tried again. Don't know if these are better than the pics in the post below. Whatevs!
As my heros Charles Schultz and Beatrix Potter did everyday, I doodle. I doodle Bear, Pig, Cat and many others, esp pigs, but in the last week I have been really excited about Bear and his teaparty and have been filling a lot of pages of him using one of my teapots.
I decided to try to get Bear onto some pots. Not sculpted, per usual, but drawn and with clear glaze over the top. I have no idea how to do this, but I have a bunch of test tiles fireing in the kiln that will help me figure out color possibilities, but this mug is the first try to put Bear onto a pot. Using my pots (drawn too). I am a potter first of all, and love the idea of characters using pots. The inside of this mug will have blue glaze, then outside this drawing, which is not yet colored.....

Both stes of pics are good, the sunnier one has the edge, I really like how that green and red frame your house.
It all looks good enough to eat!

Purple is my favorite color and one day I was googling images of purple houses and that's how I found your blog. Anyway, I think I like the second set a wee bit more, but really both are nice. Purple houses FTW!

I think Bear needs a light brown glaze.

And I love the mug you gave to H-J, with a cat addition on the outside and a kitty sketch on the inside. It makes me happy when he uses it and when I wash it. :)

The new whole house shot is better than the old whole house shot. You Can see the roof.

The optics of the camera on the front door shot creates an Escher type of effect. The columns are not perpendicular or straight, and the roof line on the garage/shed looks off. It's very difficult to take photos of columns on a house and have them look straight.

Um, the columns and roof are NOT straight. Not even close. Tis an old house Steve!
Thanks all!

Ah - just as I remember it - Purple! lol.

The second set is a wee bit better, Gary. Something about the sun, eh? Very nice photos. Just think - if we had bought that house across the street, that could have been MY Maple tree, framing your photo! ;)

Your house makes me happy! It's delightful.

Do you ever make candle holder things? Like cut out shapes in the side of things to put candles in and you can see them glow through the shape? Your little critter shapes seem like they'd work well for such things.
