a day in my life: FRIDAY, hour by hour, 2 pm-7pm

I woke up and decided to take pics of what I am looking at every hour, on the hour. Fun so far! Go down to start at 7am....

7pm: me and George the hamster. I have been hamster sitting for a few days and George is cool. The most friendly hamster I have ever met. Just gave him the seeds and carrots and peppers....he's getting a little FAT this week. I really dump in the food,

6pm: the missus drives us home from the Chapterhouse bar. Neither of us EVER has a drink and drives. But the thing is, the missus is so sweet, she always sez I can have the drink, she'll drive. I had one and a half Saranac Ambers......and YES, I do have a lot of toys in the car....

5pm: took this shot a few minutes late, but no matter. We were having beers at the Chapterhouse bar with some of their yummy popcorn. Bill met us there (that is his wild shirt!) and Carl happened along then wandered off to talk to 2 chicks at the bar....(CARL the lady's man???? Yeah!)

4pm: I was finishing a bunch of pots at the Cornell Ceramics studio, where I am an instructor. My habit is to throw (see below) and then set the items in front of the fans to quick dry, then trim and add the animals. I LOVE the fact that you start the day with a ball of clay, and later you have finished items, no waiting overnight.

3pm: Throwing the bowl which I am finishing above. I had to turn the camera onto me because sitting across from me was a 22 year old student in wee little shorts and wee little top playing in mud and frankly, if I had shot my sight lines 2 feet in front of my wheel? You would have seen a young woman, ahem, dressed for a hot day. Seemed better NOT to take a photo that direction.

2pm: I parked at the bottom of library slope at Cornell and was walking up this huge hill when the clock tower you see here chimed 2. The whole slope was littered with hundreds of students pretending to study on a warm day, mostly drinking beers, playing frisbee and, you know....

You need a Pocket KC to take on adventures. I'll have to get one sent.

You and George are having a whale of a time!

You have a great life Gary. I think you already know this!
I also love that you start the day with a ball of clay and end up with something beautiful!

Gary, I was in the truck all day... I missed all of this until now. I'm just trying to catch up to the fun and frivolities of your daily activity. I drove to Earlham three times for rock... not nearly as exciting as a day in the life of... YOU! :)

Your blog is getting more addictive by the day Gary:
I just love your hour-by-hour day account!

I was recently reading a post of yours at my brother's place and his wife was truly impressed by your very original ceramics.
