love me, love my teapot....

(teaset by Gary Rith)
As you may have seen before, I like tiny teapot atop teapot as a knob on the lid. I like jokes of all sorts, and this is another one, just like 3 pigs on a pot or using an elephant trunk as a mug handle--- that makes sense to me...
let's sing the teapot song together, now, class:
(little known fact: I was a teacher for several years, and started out with pre-schoolers! Pre-schoolers know how to have fun with clay yes they do...and songs)
(well, of course, I am a teacher still, of pottery, but well behaved adult students don't really count, do they?)

I'm a little teapot
Short and stout
Here is my handle
Here is my spout

When I get all steamed up
Hear me shout
"Tip me over
and pour me out!"

  3. That is the first song I remember performing in front of people as a kid. By people I mean mom and dad. They were such a good audience.

I'm making your potato burritos tonight!

  4. ooh ooh, this is the twin's favorite song right now. They do a whole performance with it and make everyone laugh when they fall to the ground at the end. =)

  10. I remember this song from when I was a wee child in school, some 50-odd years ago. Nice memories it invokes, Gary.

  11. Somewhere around third grade, I heard a different second verse:

When I get all steamed up
    Hear me shout
    "C'mon baby,
    Let it all hang out!"
