Gary, you ought to thank your lucky stars that Penny the beagle didn't lay down on your chest and lick your face. My standard poodles would try that the mornings I wanted to lay in bed and luxuriate. Then you can't breathe.
Sounds like Mrs. Pottsb. has turned the tables on you!
